THE EBOOK!

Hello hello all! For any of those who are still sticking around to see the blog, I wanted to catch you up on what’s been happening in my life and share some exciting news. First off, where have I been?!

Over the past several years it has been an amazing blur of graduating culinary school, getting a full-time “big girl” job with a company I love, adding a chef aspect to the team, and lots of travel! I have gotten to visit 22 countries in the past two years and am very excited to be doing some more.

Overall it’s been hectic, it’s been crazy, and I’ve enjoyed every moment of these past few years, though I definitely miss blogging.

Sooo, I wanted to announce some news to you all. THERE IS AN EBOOK! I’ve actually had this published for a while now but I haven’t really done much, or any, marketing for it. It’s called Something Sweet and it’s basically a collection of my favorite dessert recipes. It’s available for only $0.99 on Amazon and Kindle and I would very much appreciate it if you guys checked it out and maybe left me a review! Let me know what you guys think and I hope you all have been doing so amazingly!

Here’s to a new year!

Coconut Flour Chocolate Chip Cookies

I would like to add cookies to the list of foods that everyone should know how to make from scratch. I mean, really if you can’t figure out how to bake cookies then you’ve got bigger issues at hand. It’s not the cookies fault that you’re incompetent. Sure, maybe your first batch won’t come out great, maybe not even your second or third, but that’s why you have to start practicing now. You never know when the time will come when freshly baked cookies are needed.

It is done. The spring semester of 2014 is officially over and you have no idea how happy I am.

Of course, that’s not to say I didn’t have fun this semester. I did. I didn’t have any professors that I just could not stand and the classes I had, well besides algebra and speech, were really fun. This semester involved lots of sugar, lots of steaks, and lots and lots of butter. Does that sauce need anything? Butter. Need to kick up your cake some? Add butter. Butter is the answer.

I’m pretty sure my arteries are glad this semester is over as well.

Aside from eating way more delicious foods than I should have, I should mention that I also killed a lobster for the first time. The entire time the only thing I could think of was “Lobster killer…. lobster killer… lobster killer…” Julie & Julia anyone? And yes, I really did feel bad. For a person who doesn’t eat just a whole lot of meat, it’s hard. For my justification though he was very delicious and will always be remembered by me. R.I.P. little buddy.

Ignore my demented smile in the picture, I’m not evil I swear.

Anyway, now for these cookies. Recently a friend of mine turned 21 and so I decided to make some guinness cookies. It’s only fitting right? I was a little disappointed with the subtlety of the guinness flavor in the cookie, I think next time I’ll add more or reduce the guinness down to give it a stronger flavor, but aside from that these cookies are addicting. Soft, chewy, and very chocolatey. I would definitely make these cookies again.

Enjoy!

Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha Cookies

Being homeschooled I never related to that feeling of being done with school for the year or for a break. It was all the same really, except when we were out we didn’t have to do any work. Same place though.

What I love about the holidays, by Sarah Freytag.

Raw Chocolate Pecan Cookies

I once heard a joke I thought was pretty funny, and in my experience, pretty accurate.

You ready? Don’t hate me.

How do you know if someone’s a vegan? Don’t worry they’ll tell you.

It’s funny right? No harm to any vegans or vegetarians out there, it’s just a simple joke, I’m cool with all of you. But seriously, I love this.

Banana’s Foster Pudding Parfait

I’m excited about this post.

So remember how I was talking about my brother making a movie soon?

Well, you see, it would be very very helpful to him if he could actually get funded for making this film.
